Nottingham Forest Shows Interest in Sporting’s Ousmane Diomande

Sporting has acknowledged an enquiry from Nottingham Forest regarding centre-back Ousmane Diomande.

Sources from Portugal indicate that the Midlands club has expressed interest in the 22-year-old Ivory Coast international, although they have not yet made an official bid.

Diomande carries a £68.2m release clause in his contract, but he may be available for a lower price this summer.

Several sources reveal that new Forest manager Oliver Glasner is spearheading any potential move for Diomande, who he wanted to sign during his tenure at Crystal Palace.

Despite his young age, Diomande has accumulated over 150 senior first-team appearances, including 15 matches for his national team and participation in the World Cup this summer.

He has also attracted interest from Chelsea and a number of other clubs across Europe.

Forest has not made any signings yet after narrowly escaping relegation to the Championship last season, but they have sold midfielder Elliot Anderson for £116m and David Carmo to Olympiacos for an undisclosed fee.
