Gabin Bernardeau Finalizes Transfer from OGC Nice to FC Lorient
Gabin Bernardeau, 20, has completed a move to FC Lorient from OGC Nice. The France youth international struggled to secure a regular spot with Les Aiglons following his transfer from Le Mans the previous summer.
Bernardeau joined Nice on a free transfer from his formative club, Le Mans FC, last year. During his time in Ligue 3, he made 30 league appearances, scoring three goals and providing eight assists.
However, after his free transfer to the Allianz Riviera last summer, the midfielder recorded only eight appearances across all competitions. He has now moved to Lorient, a side that will be managed by Alexandre Dujeux next season.
While the transfer fee remains undisclosed, reports suggest the deal is worth €1m. Bernardeau signed a four-year contract with Les Merlus. Meanwhile, former Lorient midfielder Laurent Abergel has moved in the opposite direction and has already been presented as a new Nice player.
