In a highly anticipated return to the pitch, Harry Kane showcased his Ballon d’Or trophy during Bayern Munich’s clash against Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga, marking his first match since being honored on Monday.

Kane had an impressive season, netting 73 goals in 64 games for club and country, and claimed the title of Bayern’s first Ballon d’Or winner since 1981 when he was recognized as the world’s best player.

As the game kicked off, Kane received a warm welcome from fans and players alike at Munich’s Allianz Arena, where the anthem “Land of Hope and Glory” resonated throughout the stadium. Accompanied by his wife, Katie Goodland, and their four children, Kane was the last player to made his way onto the pitch, proudly holding his Ballon d’Or trophy before addressing the crowd.

“Hi everyone, I just wanted to say I’m extremely proud to be a FC Bayern Munich player,” Kane stated. “The support you have shown me since I arrived has been incredible.”

The atmosphere was electric as both teams applauded Kane, underlining his significant achievement. His recognition as the Ballon d’Or winner marks him as the first English player to receive this accolade since 2001, having triumphed over Kylian Mbappe and Lamine Yamal for the award. Additionally, he is the first Bundesliga player to win the prize since 1996.

Last season, Kane recorded an outstanding 36 goals in the Bundesliga, despite starting only 25 matches, and notably scored in every round of the German Cup, including a hat-trick during the final, helping Bayern secure a double victory.
