Cammy Devlin to leave Hearts after contract talks stall
Cammy Devlin is departing Heart of Midlothian as a free agent after failing to reach an agreement on new terms with the club.
The 28-year-old Australia midfielder, who joined the Edinburgh side in August 2021, concludes his time at Tynecastle after making 176 appearances. Devlin served as a key player for Hearts last season during their intense title race against champions Celtic, which remained undecided until the final day of the campaign.
“Heart of Midlothian can confirm that Cammy Devlin will not be returning to the club,” the club stated on social media.
“Cammy was given a deadline by the club to commit to taking up the offer of a new deal, which he has failed to meet, and therefore leaves under freedom of contract.”
The Sydney-born player traveled with the Australia squad to the World Cup; however, he did not feature in any of the team’s four matches played across Canada and the United States.
