Hull City Pursues Olympiakos Goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis
Hull City manager Sergej Jakirovic revealed last week that the Tigers were close to finalizing a deal for Olympiakos goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis.
In response to this development, BBC Radio Humberside’s James Hoggarth consulted Greek football journalist Konstantinos Lianos to gain insights about Tzolakis.

“We are talking about a player who is very good under pressure,” Lianos noted.
“That’s exactly the challenge Hull will face as they return to the Premier League. Every time a Championship club returns to the Premier League, they are immediately labeled as the favorites for relegation.
“Historically, we have seen defenders and goalkeepers perform better in the Premier League. When it comes to Greek players, it’s usually a reliable choice. Tzolakis has experience playing in the Champions League.
“He became the youngest Greek goalkeeper to compete in a Greek cup final at just 17 years, 10 months, and four days old. He also recorded the most clean sheets in the 2024-25 Europa League campaign, with six clean sheets across 10 matches.”
Lianos highlighted that Hull’s target keeper excels as a shot-stopper but expects the Tigers will need to “dig deep” financially to secure a permanent signing.
