While the club did not disclose the transfer fee, it has been revealed that Manchester United paid an undisclosed amount to Leicester City for Leitzig’s services.
The 27-year-old German goalkeeper has spent the past three-and-a-half years with Leicester City. She originally joined The Foxes on loan from Bayern Munich, a deal that was later made permanent. During her time at Leicester, Leitzig made 69 appearances across all competitions.
Leitzig has represented Germany at the youth level but is yet to achieve a senior cap for her country.
Upon her arrival at Manchester United, Leitzig expressed her excitement, saying, “It is a real honour to be a Manchester United player. I’m ready to bring all of my experience of competing at the highest level to help the team to have a successful season.”
