Being one of the most in-form players in Europe, the Bayern Munich forward Michael Olise was very closely linked with Real Madrid during the last summer transfer window. Even though the Merengues published a public statement to assure that they are not in talks with the player, and will negotiate with him only after getting the nod from the Bavarians, there was constant speculation in the media about his possible move to the Spanish capital.

Ultimately, the Frenchman decided to stay at the Bundesliga side, where he is again showcasing his amazing talent at the start of this new season. However, he has not yet signed a new contract with Bayern, which means his links to Los Blancos still remain alive.

Meanwhile, he is not the only Bayern Munich player in whom Real Madrid are interested. The youngster Lennart Karl, who expressed his desire to play for the Merengue team at some point in his career a few months ago, is another player liked by Los Blancos.

In such a context, the journalist Christian Falk argues in his latest column on CF Bayern Insider that the futures of both of these players are highly interlinked, and a renewal for one of these players can open the door for the other to leave the German club.

The journalist reveals that Bayern have given Olise time till the next summer transfer window to let them know about his intentions going forward. They would definitely want to tie him down before that, but if he ends up signing a new contract, he would remain a fixed starter in the team, which means Karl’s opportunities to make his place in the first team would be very limited.

On the other hand, if Michael Olise ends up leaving, Karl will have a more pronounced role in the first team, even though Bayern Munich would sign a new player to replace him. Meanwhile, one solution for the Bavarians could be to give Lennart Karl a new contract in the near future, but still, this is a situation on which Real Madrid will be keeping a close eye in the coming months.
