The Egyptian King reached an agreement to rip up his £400k per week contract one year earlier. Originally slated to leave the club in 2027, that exit date was brought forward to the end of June this year.

Following a spell at the FIFA World Cup with Egypt, Salah is now preparing to make his next move. At 34, the left-footed attacker still believes he has much to offer at the top level.
Besiktas to Sign Mo Salah
Although teams in Saudi Arabia and MLS have expressed interest in striking a deal for the Pharaoh, it looks like the legendary forward will remain in European football.
Turkish giants Galatasaray and Fenerbahce were early contenders for a Salah deal, but Istanbul rivals Besiktas have now swooped in.
It appears Vincenzo Italiano’s side will finalize the signing of Salah sometime this week, pending resolution of issues regarding bonuses and commissions.

Salah to Make £10m Per Year
Some surprise has surrounded the pay package the two-time African footballer of the year will receive. It works out at around £10m per year—including bonuses—which is about half of what he made at Anfield.
However, Salah is willing to take on this financial shortfall, according to a report in A Spor. In fact, the winger has turned down bigger offers from the Saudi Pro League to finalize a deal with Besiktas.

Salah Turns Down €20m Saudi Offer
“The Egyptian player is very keen to play in Türkiye and wear the Beşiktaş jersey,” the report states.

“It has been learned that the 34-year-old world star rejected offers from Saudi Arabian teams that had proposed higher salaries than Beşiktaş.
“The Saudi offers were reportedly in the range of 20 million euros per year.”
Teams in the Saudi league reportedly interested in Salah include Brendan Rodgers’ Al-Qadsiah, Al-Ahli, and Al-Ittihad. Nevertheless, Salah’s desire to stay within European competitions has directed him to the Turkish Super Lig.
Besiktas will also face FC Midtjylland in the second qualifying round for the Europa League this week, with the final of that competition set for their home ground next year.
