José Mourinho Begins New Era at Real Madrid Training Complex
Portuguese coach José Mourinho has officially started his tenure at Ciudad Deportiva de Valdebebas. During his first day at the Real Madrid training ground, the experienced manager shared his initial thoughts and emphasized that his return to Los Blancos centers on strict discipline and institutional commitment.
A mission planned with technology
Mourinho noted that his project did not begin from scratch, as he carefully structured his plans from afar using modern tools.
“Words are not enough. We are on a mission. We have been working hard for a long time with the club’s structure at different levels. Nowadays, technology helps a lot and allows progress without being physically present. My arrival has basically been to verify everything that has been done and what we still have left to do,” the coach explained.
Creating a culture of belonging and ambition
The Portuguese tactician clearly defined the spirit he intends to instill in his squad. His primary goal is to improve the team’s collective performance through responsibility, ambition, and total respect for the badge, which he views as a fundamental pillar of his coaching philosophy.
“I’m here to help everyone become better. I want to create a culture of work, responsibility, and ambition, built on something I know well: the honor of working for Real Madrid. I really like this concept. It’s not working at Real Madrid, it’s working for Real Madrid,” he stated.
A golden opportunity for Castilla
With several first-team players currently away on international duty, Mourinho viewed the start of the preseason as a positive development.
The coach noted that the situation offers an ideal opportunity to interact with and closely evaluate young talents from the youth system, adding that he looks forward to contributing to the development of the academy. Many of these players will remain with Real Madrid Castilla for the season as the club awaits the return of those who participated in the World Cup.
