Aston Villa Signs Norway International Mathilde Harviken from Juventus
Aston Villa has welcomed Mathilde Harviken as their latest summer signing for the Women’s Super League. The defender joins the club from Italian side Juventus.
Harviken began her football career in Norway, featuring for FL Fart and Røa before moving to Rosenborg in 2022. During her time there, she made over 80 appearances and played a key role in their victory in the Norwegian Cup in 2023.

The centre-back transferred to Juventus in 2025, making almost 50 appearances and contributing to the team’s domestic success, as well as competing in the Champions League.
With international experience, Harviken made her senior debut for Norway in 2022 after progressing through the youth ranks. She has since established herself as a regular member of the national team, participating in both the 2023 World Cup and EURO 2025.
After finalizing her move, the 24-year-old expressed her enthusiasm: “It’s a really good opportunity to join a club with such a big history. There are great facilities here and everything you need to perform and continue developing as a player.”
Ready for her next challenge in the Women’s Super League, Harviken stated, “I think it’s a really good opportunity to join a club with such a big history. It’s a really strong league and I’m looking forward to playing hard games every week and developing with the team.”
