Portsmouth has finalized the signings of Serbian striker Marko Milovanovic from Spanish club Almeria and goalkeeper Daniel Bielica from Dutch outfit NAC Breda.

Milovanovic, 22, has committed to a four-year deal at Fratton Park, with the transfer fee reported to exceed £3 million.

The forward began his journey at Serbian team Partizan Belgrade before joining Almeria in 2022, where he made 35 appearances and netted three goals. Last season, he was loaned to FC Alverca in Portugal’s top league, scoring 10 goals in 32 matches.

“We are delighted to strengthen our attacking options with the signing of Marko,” Portsmouth manager John Mousinho stated. “He possesses the physical attributes necessary to thrive in English football, while also being comfortable with the ball at his feet. His goal tally in Portugal last season was impressive, and I look forward to seeing what he can achieve for Pompey as we aim to build on our previous two Championship campaigns.”

Bielica has joined the club for an undisclosed fee on a three-year contract. He started his senior career with Polish side Gornik Zabrze before moving to the Netherlands in 2024, where he accumulated 65 top-flight appearances over two seasons with Breda.

Mousinho noted, “He is a very experienced player with plenty of minutes at a high level of European football under his belt. Daniel joins Pompey following a strong individual season in the Netherlands and provides us with another excellent option between the sticks.”

Key figures at Portsmouth have openly discussed an increased budget this summer. It is reported that the upfront fees for Marko Milovanovic and Rocco Shein together exceed £5 million, which is significantly more than the club’s entire transfer budget from the previous summer. However, these amounts remain modest by Championship standards.

Some fans have expressed frustration over the length of time taken to finalize these deals, but the club cannot control when information leaks occur on the other end of negotiations. For Shein and Milovanovic, any delays also stem from unavoidable visa processes.

Pompey is still in search of a holding midfielder, a left-back, possibly another center-back, and a right winger. The potential return of Abu Kamara remains under consideration, which could excite supporters, although there are hurdles to be cleared for that deal to materialize.
