The newly promoted team has established a distinct style of play that they maintain regardless of their opponents.

In an interview with Radio MARCA, midfielder Andre Almeida reflected on the quality of Madrid’s play and the influence of Jose Mourinho.

Almeida Surprised by Real Madrid’s Performance Against Barcelona

Almeida expressed his astonishment at last weekend’s Clasico, particularly regarding the game’s unexpected dynamics.

“I expected Barcelona, playing at home, to be more dominant,” Almeida stated while analyzing the 2-1 victory achieved by Madrid at Spotify Camp Nou.

“Real Madrid surprised me a lot,” he continued.

The midfielder gave credit to Jose Mourinho for the team’s unity and competitive spirit.

“Mourinho always gets the blood pumping in his players,” Almeida noted, praising the coach’s capacity to inspire his squad.

Nevertheless, he insisted that Madrid’s reputation would not intimidate his team.

“Everyone at Real Madrid is a good player, but I’m not afraid of anyone,” he asserted.

“It’s eleven men against eleven men, and anything can happen. I’m confident we can win.”

Racing Midfielder Reflects on His Role Model

Almeida expressed confidence that Racing’s possession-oriented football could pose challenges for Madrid.

“I think we have a style of play that could work well against Real Madrid. If we have the ball, we can hurt them,” he elaborated.

He also highlighted two Real Madrid players, notably praising Vinicius Jr., despite his absence due to a suspension.

“When Vinicius is motivated, he’s one of the best in the world,” Almeida shared.

Vinicius is currently serving a four-match ban following his red card against Villarreal and has two games left on his suspension.

The Racing midfielder also spoke of Bernardo Silva, whom he regards as a role model.

“He’s a great player, with tremendous quality. He’s an example for me,” Almeida concluded.

He believes that Racing’s emphasis on possession could enable them to challenge Madrid effectively.

However, such strategies often play into Mourinho’s strengths, particularly during transitions.

With talented counter-attacking players like Kylian Mbappe and Yan Diomande at his disposal, along with Arda Guler serving as a playmaker, Mourinho’s side remains a formidable opponent.

Having recently triumphed against Barcelona, Los Blancos are eager to sustain their momentum as they prepare for their match against Racing Santander.
