Headline: Real Madrid Excited About Young Talent Mikel Lopez’s Bright Future
Real Madrid is buzzing with excitement over one of its promising soccer academy talents, 15-year-old Mikel Lopez. As a standout striker, Lopez is hailed as one of the crown jewels of La Fabrica, the club’s renowned youth academy, and the club has high hopes for his future.
Lopez, born in 2011, has been with Real Madrid’s youth ranks since 2022 and currently plays for the Cadete A squad. At just 15 years old, he stands an impressive 1.92 meters tall and has already scored a remarkable total of 148 goals during his time in the academy.
During his first season with Real Madrid in 2022/23, Lopez netted 30 goals for the Alevin A team after transferring from Canillas. He followed that strong performance with 38 goals for Infantil B the next season and topped it off with an outstanding 43 goals for Infantil A in the 2024/25 season. In 2025/26, he continued to shine, scoring 37 goals with the Cadete B squad, bringing his tally to an impressive 148 goals.
Lopez’s blend of physical presence and clinical finishing has drawn comparisons to Manchester City striker Erling Haaland, who has long been a target for Real Madrid.
The young forward bolstered his reputation with a stellar performance at the recent FIFA U-15 World Cup in Baku, where he scored five goals to help Spain clinch the title.
Real Madrid remains enthusiastic about Lopez, especially considering his World Cup-winning teammate Alberto Ruiz has already attracted interest from Manchester United. In response to the rising attention on Lopez, Real Madrid moved quickly to renew his contract in November 2025, showing their commitment to nurturing this top talent.
The club is keen on carefully managing Lopez’s development, recognizing him as a valuable asset for the future. He will turn 16 in 2027, at which point he will be eligible to sign his first professional contract. Real Madrid is optimistic about convincing him to continue his journey at La Fabrica.
