Real Madrid to Face Ferencvaros in Pre-Season Friendly in Budapest
Real Madrid have officially announced that they will take on Hungarian outfit Ferencvaros in a pre-season friendly next month.
The game is set to take place at the Groupama Arena, in Budapest, Hungary.

“Real Madrid will play a pre-season friendly against Ferencváros on Saturday, August 8th, at 7:00 PM. Mourinho’s players will travel to Budapest, Hungary, for the match at the Groupama Arena, the Hungarian team’s stadium, which has a capacity of 22,000 spectators,” the club statement read.
Real Madrid have played Ferencvaros only twice in the club’s history, with both encounters coming in the group stages of the 1995/96 season.
The home game saw Los Blancos secure a heavy 6-1 win, while the away fixture ended in a 1-1 draw.
However, the away fixture took place at Ferencvaros’ old stadium, Stadion Albert Florian. As such, this will be the first time the Spanish capital giants will be playing at the Groupama Arena.
Ferencvaros’ 2026/27 season is already underway, as they are currently taking part in the qualifying stages of the UEFA Europa League.

After beating Vojvodina Novi Sad in the first qualifying round, the Hungarian outfit defeated FC Twente in the first leg of the second qualifying round earlier this week.
Pre-season Schedule Taking Shape
This will be the third official pre-season friendly that Los Blancos have announced, with Jose Mourinho’s team set to take on Fiorentina on August 1 in Austria, and later on facing newly-promoted La Liga side, Deportivo La Coruna, in Spain on August 12.
Los Blancos will also be playing a training match, one of which will take place later today against Alcorcon.
There are talks of another pre-season friendly being arranged against Schalke in Germany a week before the start of the team’s La Liga season.
