Roma Moves to Secure Crysencio Summerville in €46 Million Bid
Roma has intensified its efforts to acquire Crysencio Summerville, submitting a formal offer to West Ham for the Dutch winger. The move comes as interest in Summerville rapidly escalates.
According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Summerville has reportedly given his approval to join the Giallorossi, being attracted by the club’s project. Roma has backed this up with an official proposal amounting to €46 million.

The club is now awaiting West Ham’s response, hoping that the size of the bid will persuade the London club to accept. Following approval from West Ham, Roma plans to finalize personal terms with the player.

Summerville Bid Comes Despite Roma Boss Gasperini’s Wage-Cap Comments
The timing of the bid raises eyebrows. Earlier in the day, Gian Piero Gasperini had seemingly ruled out Summerville, citing financial constraints due to the club’s newly established salary cap.

“By choice, not because of the club’s means,” the coach remarked when questioned about the winger’s viability as a target.
“It’s been decided to set a wage ceiling, and it seems right to me: it’s not nice for someone who reached the Champions League to immediately be leapfrogged by a new arrival. If you can’t stay within the parameters, it’s better to go for other profiles.”
The formal bid, submitted just hours later, suggests either a reevaluation of the club’s position or that conditions have been established to accommodate the budget constraints.
This also highlights a decisive approach regarding their primary target after Roma had considered less costly alternatives like Ajax’s Mika Godts, whose lower wage expectations made him an attractive backup option.

For Gasperini, securing Summerville would fulfill his request for three or four key additions to a squad aiming to compete again in the Champions League, representing the marquee signing he has sought for the wide position.
