Headline: Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Cesar Peixoto Addresses Injury Concerns Ahead of Cardiff City Clash
Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Cesar Peixoto has expressed his frustration regarding the “unfortunate” number of injuries the team has faced this season.
However, Peixoto has rejected claims that these injuries resulted from the club’s training practices, clarifying that the majority are “trauma” injuries rather than “muscular” ones.

“It is not because we are not managing it well,” Peixoto conveyed in an interview with BBC Radio WM. “Only three of the injuries we have had have been muscular injuries.
“It is not a pattern of injuries. It is not that we do bad work.
“We try to control all we can, but we cannot control all these things.
“There is more physical contact in the Championship. Trauma injuries are difficult to control. It is going to happen. It is unfortunate.
“Sometimes you can just be unlucky.”
Criticism emerged regarding Peixoto’s decision to play Wolves favorite Raul Jimenez in the League Cup loss to Everton just before the Black Country derby.

Jimenez is now sidelined until at least January following knee surgery, joining Bertrand Traore (hamstring), Boubacar Traore (calf), and Nasser Djiga (groin) on the injury list.
In contrast, Wolves also face challenges due to the absence of influential Wales midfielder Jordan James, who suffered a foot injury while on international duty. Having James available for Wolves’ third consecutive home game would provide a boost, especially following his impactful contributions in the previous two matches. Notably, Peixoto welcomes the return of Rodrigo Gomes, who is now fit after missing four games due to an ankle injury.
James came off the bench to score a potential winner against Portsmouth, only for the match to end in a late equalizer. He started for only the second time since joining in August in last Saturday’s 1-0 home victory over Watford.

Looking ahead, James is expected to feature in the upcoming match against Cardiff City, which the Wolves will approach with caution given the Bluebirds’ recent performance against Birmingham City.
