Headline: Marcus Rashford Expresses Desire for Privacy Amid Ongoing Media Discussion

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has voiced his wish to play football without his name frequently appearing in media discussions. This statement follows a recent podcast conversation initiated by Gary Neville, during which Jamie Carragher expressed his annoyance at the continued focus on Rashford’s performance.

In a segment of the Stick to Football podcast, Carragher remarked, “Can we do a podcast without mentioning Rashford?” He further added, “Stop it. Oh my God. It’s like the Trent [Alexander-Arnold] and Rashford… like a little part of the podcast. The Trent part or the Rashford part.”

Rashford responded to the clip on X, stating: “Thanks, Jamie. It would be great to be able to get my head down and play football without my name being mentioned every day.”

The 28-year-old player seems likely to remain with United after a loan spell at Barcelona last season, where he helped the team secure the La Liga title.

His last competitive match for United took place under former manager Ruben Amorim in December 2024, but he is expected to participate in their Premier League opener against Hull on Saturday.

Defender Harry Maguire also commented on Rashford’s situation following United’s recent 4-2 friendly loss to AC Milan. He expressed hope that Rashford would continue at Old Trafford, highlighting that he is a “big asset” and a “huge threat.”

Marcus Rashford said he would like to play football without his “name being mentioned every day” after Gary Neville tried to start a conversation about the Manchester United forward on a podcast.

Rashford replied to a clip of the Stick to Football podcast in which Jamie Carragher expressed his frustration when former United defender Neville asked for thoughts on Rashford.
