Jack Grealish Excluded from Everton Squad Again Following Disciplinary Issue
Jack Grealish has once again been omitted from Everton‘s lineup due to an internal disciplinary breach, as the team prepares to face Newcastle in the Premier League.
Grealish did not travel with the team to Tyneside for Everton’s second game against the Magpies within five days. In their previous meeting, David Moyes‘ team secured a 3-1 victory in the Carabao Cup clash at Hill Dickinson Stadium last Thursday.
The 31-year-old winger missed that game as a consequence of skipping training without authorization.
Grealish, who is enjoying his second loan spell at Everton, was thought to be in line for a return after his absence due to illness during the loss against Arsenal on Saturday.
However, Moyes chose to exclude him from the squad entirely, opting to name two goalkeepers on the bench for the match against Matthias Jaissle’s side, and Grealish has once more been left out of the lineup for the upcoming trip to St James’ Park.
It remains unclear whether his absence is due to fitness concerns or if it marks an extension of his disciplinary measures.
Moyes implemented two changes from the previous successful formation against Newcastle last week, with Tyler Dibling and Hayden Hackney, who contributed with a goal and an assist, moved to the bench. Jarrad Branthwaite returns to play, while Jake O’Brien shifts to right-back and Merlin Rohl pushes up the field, accompanied by Harrison Armstrong joining James Garner in midfield.
Grealish, currently in the final season of his contract at Manchester City, rejoined Everton on loan as the transfer deadline approached, and has since appeared in six matches without finding the net.
