Arsenal is preparing to welcome Victor Ozhianvuna during the January transfer window after agreeing to terms back in October 2025.

Ozhianvuna, who was just 16 at that time, could not officially transfer to the new club. However, he will celebrate his 18th birthday in January, allowing for the transfer to go through in the forthcoming winter window.

While waiting for the transfer, Ozhianvuna has continued to play for Shamrock Rovers. With the end of the current season, he has now taken to social media to express his heartfelt farewell to the club that has nurtured him through their academy and into first-team participation.

“After 11 amazing years, I’m saying goodbye to the club where I’ve made memories that I’ll never forget,” Ozhianvuna posted on Instagram.

“I’ve met many amazing people at the club and learned so much over the years as a footballer, but more importantly, as a person, and I’m forever grateful for that.”

“I want to express my gratitude to my coaches, teammates, friends, and family for their support over the years. I also appreciate the continuous love from the supporters towards me and the club.”

“The past months have been challenging due to an injury, and I am disappointed to have missed out on playing, but I could not have asked for a better way to end than by winning the league and lifting the trophy in front of the fans.”

“As I prepare for the next chapter in my career, I will carry the memories of the club that provided me with my start, and I am proud to say I have played for the Hoops. Forever grateful, forever a Hoop.”

In his farewell post, Ozhianvuna highlighted his recent achievement of winning the Irish league title for the second time, contributing with 13 league appearances for Rovers in their 2025 title win and another 18 this season.

His performance had been promising earlier in May, where he provided assists in consecutive matches against Drogheda United and Galway United, prompting speculation about a senior international call-up from his manager.

However, a back injury halted his progress, leaving him sidelined for the last five months. Ozhianvuna hopes to regain fitness before officially joining Arsenal.

The young talent is expected to sign a four-and-a-half-year contract with Arsenal in January, extending until 2031. Shamrock Rovers will receive around €2 million (£1.68 million) as a transfer fee, with potential additional earnings dependent on future transfers.
