Napoli Pursue Gavi on Potential January Loan Deal
Napoli has turned its attention to Barcelona midfielder Gavi, as reported by Calciomercato (h/t SPORT). Giovanni Manna, Napoli’s sporting director, is considering a loan move for Gavi in the upcoming January transfer window.
The Serie A club has closely monitored the situation of the La Masia graduate at Barcelona, particularly due to his limited playing time under coach Hansi Flick this season.

Sources indicate Napoli is exploring options to secure Gavi’s services this winter. The club prefers a loan agreement with an option to purchase, allowing them to evaluate the player’s fit without a hefty initial fee.

The interest from Napoli stems from Gavi’s scant playing time this season. So far, the 22-year-old midfielder has logged only 211 minutes across eight matches, starting just twice, putting him behind players like Pedri, Rodri, Fermin Lopez, Dani Olmo, and Marc Bernal in the Barcelona hierarchy.
Gavi fully committed to Barcelona
Despite his current predicament, Gavi remains steadfast in his commitment to Barcelona and does not wish to leave the club. He recognizes that patience is essential, although he is not entirely pleased with his limited minutes thus far in this season.

Last summer, several clubs from the Premier League expressed interest in Gavi, but he made it clear that he did not want to leave Barcelona. His stance remains unchanged, despite his limited role with the team.
Barcelona, in turn, highly value him and are not inclined to allow him to leave anytime soon. Despite his lack of regular playing time, Flick holds Gavi in high regard and views him as an integral part of the team.
Consequently, Napoli’s efforts to secure Gavi through a potential loan arrangement are likely to meet significant resistance.
