Headline: Manchester United Considering Legal Action Over Gabriel’s Potential Transfer to Real Madrid
Manchester United is contemplating legal action against Real Madrid following the impending transfer of 16-year-old prospect JJ Gabriel. The young talent has not participated in training sessions with the Red Devils since September, and sources indicate he is close to completing a move to the Spanish club, reportedly with a verbal agreement already established.
According to a report from Tyrone Marshall of the Manchester Evening News, Manchester United finds itself in an unclear position regarding Gabriel’s transfer situation. The club has received no information or communication from either the player’s representatives or Real Madrid concerning the deal.
Gabriel last trained with Manchester United after a notable performance where he scored a hat-trick in the UEFA Youth League against Sabah. Despite remaining on the club’s roster, attempts by Manchester United to connect with both the player and his camp have gone unanswered.
There has been no dialogue between the English wonderkid and the club since he abruptly left, and there is similarly no indication from Real Madrid about the status of the transfer.
In light of these developments, Manchester United is seriously considering initiating legal proceedings against Real Madrid should the transfer finalise as reported. Gabriel participated in the first-team pre-season at Manchester United last summer and was in line for an official senior debut. However, frustrations grew over limited immediate opportunities, prompting his decision to leave.
Now 16, Gabriel has obtained a European Union passport, which allows him to sign with a club outside of England without restrictions, pending FIFA approval. Other top clubs, including Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, and Barcelona, have also expressed interest, but it appears that Real Madrid is positioned to secure his signature.
Should the transfer occur, Manchester United expects a nominal training compensation fee ranging from £100,000 to £300,000, significantly lower than Gabriel’s market value. As a result, the Premier League club is weighing its options for legal recourse regarding the situation, given that Gabriel remains registered with them.
