Pio Esposito: Inter Reaction ‘Wasn’t a Given’, Goals Are ‘Like Oxygen’

Pio Esposito Delivers Key Goal in Inter Milan’s 3-0 Victory Over Feyenoord

Inter Milan secured a convincing 3-0 victory against Feyenoord, marking a significant comeback for the team after a recent loss. Italian striker Francesco Pio Esposito scored the second goal during the match, celebrating his first goal since September 14. In a post-match interview, Esposito expressed his joy, stating, “Goals are like oxygen.”

The match took place on Tuesday, with the Nerazzurri dominating their opponents on the road. After suffering a 3-1 defeat in a derby against Milan in Serie A just days prior, Inter quickly regrouped and put forth a strong performance.

“It wasn’t a given. We were good at having that reaction against a tough opponent,” Esposito told Sky Sport. He emphasized the importance of entering the game with the right mindset and dictated the pace throughout.

“We surely analyze defeats,” he added. “We did, and I’m happy we put words into action.”

With the win, Inter now holds six points from four Champions League matches. When asked about their chances of finishing in the top eight, Esposito remained focused, stating, “It’s still very long. We must focus on one game at a time, thinking that we can play on par with everyone until the end.”

Reflecting on his scoring drought, Esposito noted, “Surely, a goal is like oxygen for a striker, but I try to put the work for the team ahead of everything else and I’m happy to have ended my drought.”
