Juventus Eyes Striker Reinforcements Ahead of January Transfer Window
Juventus is planning to bolster its attack in January, considering several striking options, including Manchester United’s Benjamin Sesko, AS Monaco’s Florian Balogun, and Sunderland’s Brian Brobbey. The Bianconeri have faced challenges in scoring goals and establishing a consistent lineup this season, with Randal Kolo Muani and Nick Woltemade struggling to make a significant impact.
Head coach Luciano Spalletti has hesitated to field both players together, mainly due to a lack of viable substitutes to inject freshness into the match.
According to Calciomercato, Juventus aims to enhance its attacking capabilities during the upcoming transfer window, revisiting some previously mentioned options. Although Sesko remains a target, he is currently sidelined due to injury.
Additionally, USMNT striker Balogun has a contract with AS Monaco until June 2028, leading to speculation that he might be sold soon to prevent him leaving as a free agent later. Balogun has scored just once in five Ligue 1 appearances this season after a botched move to Everton, where he declined to sign a contract following a challenging medical test.
Sunderland’s Brobbey, 24, has netted three times in eight games this season and recently extended his contract to 2031. Meanwhile, Eintracht Frankfurt’s Younes Ebnoutalib has made a mark with eight goals in ten competitive matches, having previously played in Italy for Perugia.
Another name drawing attention is Italian Antonio Raimondo, currently thriving at Frosinone with nine goals in 11 games across Serie A and the Coppa Italia. Raimondo is still under Bologna’s ownership but is on loan at Frosinone, aiding their promotion from Serie B. However, after sustaining an ankle injury, Juventus may be prompted to explore other options come January.
