Real Madrid Eyes Former Academy Graduate for €10m Amid Interest from Man United, Chelsea, and Liverpool

Manchester United and Others Eye Jacobo Ramon Ahead of 2027 Transfer Window

Several Premier League clubs, including Manchester United, Chelsea, and Liverpool, are closely monitoring Como defender Jacobo Ramon in anticipation of the summer 2027 transfer window. According to reports from AS, Manchester United has emerged as the frontrunner for the former Madrid academy graduate, demonstrating significant interest in his potential.

The 21-year-old defender has established himself as a key player in Como’s defense during the current campaign under coach Cesc Fabregas. Ramon has recorded 14 appearances across all competitions, contributing three goals and two assists, which earned him a call-up to Spain’s senior national team for the first time. Despite the increasing attention from top clubs, he is not expected to depart Como in the imminent January transfer window, with the spotlight shifting towards the prospect of an impending transfer battle next summer.

AS reports that Manchester United has been the most persistent club following Ramon, while Chelsea and Liverpool have also included him in their recruitment strategies. Nonetheless, Ramon remains committed to his development in Italy, where consistent playing time has solidified his status as one of Serie A’s promising young talents.

Real Madrid retains a significant advantage due to a buy-back clause linked to Ramon’s move to Como, where he transferred for approximately €2.5 million. Madrid maintained 50% of his economic rights and secured a buy-back option valued at around €10 million. This clause gives Real Madrid considerable leverage in controlling his future, should they decide to reclaim him in light of growing Premier League interest.

Currently, Real Madrid is adopting a cautious approach concerning potential transfers, particularly as they plan their defense for the 2027/28 season. With Antonio Rudiger’s contract set to expire that year and other key defenders expected to stay, Ramon is viewed as a leading candidate to return if Rudiger exits. Thus, Real Madrid has no immediate pressure to make a decision while Ramon continues to develop at Como.
