A National League South match between Truro City and Folkestone Invicta was postponed on Saturday after a player experienced a medical emergency during the warm-up.

Yassine En-Neyah, a 26-year-old midfielder for Truro, needed medical assistance while warming up and was subsequently taken to the hospital.

Kick-off for the match was delayed initially, but the game was ultimately called off at 3:14 PM GMT, 14 minutes after the original start time.

“Truro City can confirm that this afternoon’s match against Folkestone Invicta has been postponed,” stated the club. “Yassine En-Neyah required medical assistance during the warm-up and was transferred to the William Harvey hospital in Ashford for further treatment. We will provide a further update in due course.”

En-Neyah, who developed his skills at Nottingham Forest, made one senior appearance for the club, debuting off the bench in an FA Cup third-round loss to Chelsea in January 2020.

Born in Morocco, he moved to Dublin as a child and represented the Republic of Ireland at youth level before joining Nottingham Forest as a teenager. Following his release from Forest in 2021, he returned to Ireland for spells at Shelbourne and Waterford before moving to Truro in February 2023.

He played a key role in Truro’s promotion to National League South during his first spell with the club. After a brief stint at Colchester United, where he did not make an appearance, he went on loan to Maldon & Tiptree before returning to Truro in 2024. Since then, he has played 79 matches for Truro, scoring his only goal this season against Dagenham & Redbridge.
