Norway Faces England as 2026 World Cup Quarterfinals Conclude

The 2026 World Cup continues on Saturday with two matches that will conclude the quarterfinal round. Here is what you need to know about the upcoming fixtures.

    Norway vs. England
    Saturday, July 11 | 5 p.m. ET | Miami | TV: Fox
    Odds: Norway +184, England -230

Norway enters the World Cup quarterfinals for the first time, fueled by Erling Haaland’s seven goals. Ståle Solbakken’s team reached this stage after securing 2-1 knockout victories against Ivory Coast and Brazil.

As Haaland pursues the Golden Boot and a world title, the Norwegians face an England squad that reached this stage in 2022 and the semifinals in 2018. The Three Lions narrowly avoided elimination in the Round of 16, defeating Mexico 3-2. They played the final stretch with 10 men following a red card to Jarell Quansah, who received a two-game suspension.

Haaland has initiated pre-match mind games, stating that all the pressure lies with England as they seek their first World Cup title since 1966. The winner of this match will face either Argentina or Switzerland in Wednesday’s semifinal in Atlanta.

    Argentina vs. Switzerland

    **Saturday, July 11 | 9 p.m. ET | Kansas City, Mo. | TV: Fox**
    **Odds:** Argentina -350, Switzerland +265

The reigning world champions survived close calls in their last two matches, securing 3-2 wins over Cape Verde and Egypt. Lionel Messi, the current Golden Boot leader, played a central role in those dramatic finishes, scoring key goals to help Argentina reach its second consecutive semifinal.

Switzerland has reached the quarterfinals for the first time since 1954. A clean sheet against Algeria followed by a penalty shootout victory over Colombia earned the Swiss their spot in Kansas City to face Argentina.

The Swiss team will play without striker Johan Manzambi, who is sidelined for a second consecutive game due to a knee injury. The 20-year-old, who has recorded three goals in the tournament, also missed the Round of 16 victory against Colombia.
