FC Utrecht has confirmed the acquisition of Sem van Duijn from AZ Alkmaar on a loan deal for the 2026/2027 Eredivisie season. The 22-year-old striker has the opportunity to impress Utrecht within the year to trigger the purchase option included in the agreement with AZ Alkmaar.

Van Duijn reunites with Antonio Correia, the former Telstar head coach, who took over at Utrecht this summer. Before joining AZ Alkmaar in 2024, Van Duijn built a reputation in the amateur leagues with Quick Boys, where he netted 22 goals in 70 matches, including 19 goals in 38 appearances during the 2023/2024 season.

Though he participated in only two senior matches for AZ Alkmaar, most of his playing time occurred with Jong AZ Alkmaar in the second tier, where he recorded 15 goals in 43 matches over two seasons.

Last season, Van Duijn enjoyed a fruitful loan at Telstar under Correia, contributing five goals and two assists in 16 matches for the newly promoted club.
