PSG Target Ferran Torres as Barcelona Sets Contract Ultimatum
Ferran Torres’ future at Barcelona has taken an unexpected turn following interest from Paris Saint-Germain.
The French and European champions are keen to sign the Barcelona attacker and have held positive talks with his camp.
Luis Enrique’s admiration for Ferran is well known. The PSG manager was one of the strongest supporters of the forward during his time with the Spanish national team and remains convinced of his qualities.
Barcelona’s stance
Now, according to La Vanguardia, inside the Catalan club, the message regarding the 26-year-old forward is clear: either he renews his contract or he is sold.
Sources at Barcelona acknowledge that the club’s preferred outcome is to extend Ferran’s deal, which currently expires in 2027.
Although both parties have already held talks over a contract extension, no agreement was reached. They mutually decided to resume negotiations once Ferran’s involvement in the 2026 World Cup comes to an end.
Atletico Madrid also keen
Apart from PSG, Ferran is also admired by Atletico Madrid’s sporting department.
The Blaugrana have been in unfruitful talks with Los Rojiblancos to try and work out an agreement for Julian Alvarez. Now, it appears that the Spanish capital club hold an interest in Ferran.
Interestingly, during the World Cup, he has been seen spending considerable time with Atletico Madrid duo Marc Pubill and Marcos Llorente, with whom he shares an excellent relationship, while also linking up with his Barcelona teammates in Spain’s camp.
Focus on the World Cup with all scenarios open
For now, Ferran remains fully focused on Spain, who face France in the World Cup semi-finals next Tuesday.
Meanwhile, people close to the player say that the forward is currently considering three possible scenarios: renewing his contract with Barcelona, seeing out his current deal until 2027, or leaving the club if Barça and an interested side reach an agreement.
Ferran’s market valuation stands at around €50 million, a figure that also matches Barcelona’s asking price should negotiations move toward a transfer.
Barcelona’s policy has consistently been to renew players entering the final year of their contracts unless they express a desire to leave. Should Ferran choose that route, the club would be willing to negotiate.
