Breel Embolo Rejects Atlanta United Offer, Ipswich Town Emerges as Top Contender

Breel Embolo (29) has reportedly opted against a move to Atlanta United, as confirmed by L’Équipe.  Stade Rennais had accepted a €17 million offer from the MLS club for the Switzerland international, which would have made him one of the highest-priced signings in MLS history. However, the striker rejected the proposed contract from the American side, according to reports from L’Équipe.

Ipswich Town has expressed interest in Embolo for several weeks and is now making definitive efforts to finalize a deal. The newly-promoted Premier League club reportedly intends to meet Rennes’ financial requirements to acquire the former AS Monaco striker. A contract offer has already been extended to Embolo, who is under contract with the Breton club until 2029.

While Atlanta United has not completely abandoned the hope of signing Embolo, L’Équipe indicates that Ipswich Town currently holds the advantage in the race to secure the player before the transfer window closes.
