Manchester City Secures Signing of German International Carlotta Wamser
Manchester City has finalized the signing of German international Carlotta Wamser on a four-year contract. The 22-year-old player arrives at the Women’s Super League champions from Bayer Leverkusen, where she joined in July 2025.
Wamser will wear the No.37 shirt as she joins her national teammate Rebecca Knaak in strengthening Manchester City’s defense. In addition to her time at Leverkusen, Wamser has previously played for SGS Essen, Eintracht Frankfurt, and FC Köln.

Wamser has represented Germany 14 times, scoring two goals. She participated in the semi-finals of the 2025 Euros with the national team and was also part of the squad that won the U17 Euros in 2019.

Regarding her transfer, Wamser stated, “It feels very, very good to be joining City. I had a perfect welcome here, and I already feel very good here. I look forward to my time here in Manchester. Wamser will don the No.37 shirt for Andrée Jeglertz’s side as she joins her international teammate Rebecca Knaak in Manchester City’s defensive line-up. Alongside appearances for Leverkusen, Wamser has also featured for SGS Essen, Eintracht Frankfurt and FC Köln.

Wamser has earned 14 caps for Germany, finding the back of the net on two occasions. The full-back was part of Christian Wück’s side which reached the semi-finals of the 2025 Euros, having also featured in the U17 Euros winning squad back in 2019.
