Cristante Reflects on Match Defeat Against Manchester United
Bryan Cristante spoke to Sky Sport following his team’s defeat against Manchester United. He noted, “We came in well, we played a great first half that could have ended even more than 2-0. Then there are the opponents, who are strong and when they push forward and find the right moment, they become difficult to contain.”
He expressed concern over a penalty decision, stating, “I didn’t watch it again, but from the pitch it looked very dubious.”
Cristante acknowledged the challenge posed by Manchester United’s strong players, emphasizing the need for the team to evaluate their performance. “We need to take a good look at it and understand where we’re going wrong; it’s becoming a bit too frequent,” he remarked.
He stressed the importance of maintaining focus in defense: “We definitely need to be more focused at the back, the whole team. We were 2-0 up, and every now and then we can drop back and keep the game going, letting the others play, but without conceding goals. We need to revisit it and understand where we went wrong.”
Reflecting on the match, he said, “We played a great half, against a strong team despite not being in their best form, and in a stadium like this. We need to take the positives, but we know this is a point and we need to improve. We will do it; we need to understand where we went wrong so we don’t make these mistakes again.”
