Liverpool in Advanced Negotiations with Brighton for Yankuba Minteh

Liverpool are in extensive discussions with Brighton regarding a transfer for Yankuba Minteh.

The Reds’ initial offer of £50 million for the 22-year-old was rejected last week. Minteh is currently sidelined due to injury and is not expected to return until October or November.

Just a day after the initial bid, Richard Hughes submitted a second offer of £60 million, which Brighton also dismissed.

Negotiations are ongoing for the left-footed Gambian player, and an agreement between the clubs could be in sight for around £70 million.

Liverpool Chasing Agreement for Minteh with Brighton

Bringing Minteh to Anfield would be beneficial for Liverpool, who have lacked a reliable right-wing option since Mohamed Salah’s exit.

Minteh has garnered attention for a while now, showcasing his talent while on loan at Feyenoord with Arne Slot in the 2023/24 season.

He previously moved to Brighton from Newcastle and, despite his injury, appears poised for an upgrade in his career.

Fabrizio Romano Confirms Deal Progress for Minteh

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Minteh has agreed terms for a “dream” move to Liverpool.

“Minteh has already agreed on personal terms with Liverpool; he desires the move and dreams of joining Liverpool after several African players have excelled there, from Mo Salah to his idol Sadio Mane,” the Italian transfer expert told Caught Offside.

Romano emphasized that club-to-club negotiations still need to reach a conclusion.

With the requested price established, it seems likely that a transfer for Minteh to Liverpool is on the horizon.

Other potential deals for offensive players remain in progress, particularly for Bradley Barcola. The winger from Paris Saint-Germain, who is under contract until 2028, currently does not feature in the first-team plans as clarity regarding his future is sought.

Although initial discussions suggested a fee around £145 million, recent reports indicate that an agreement for Barcola could be achievable at approximately £120 million.

Liverpool are locked in talks with Brighton over a deal for Yankuba Minteh.

The Reds saw an initial offer worth £50m rejected last week for the 22-year-old – who is currently out injured and not expected to feature until October or November.

That first bid was followed up by Richard Hughes with another worth £60m just 24 hours later – which again the Seagulls threw in the bin.

Discussions will continue for the left-footed Gambian star – and an agreement between the clubs could be in sight for around £70m.

Liverpool chasing agreement for Minteh with Brighton

Signing Minteh would be a welcome development for the Anfield side – who have been without a legitimate right-wing option since the departure of Mohamed Salah.

Minteh has been on the radar for quite some time – with the winger excelling on loan at Feyenoord under Arne Slot in 2023/24.

A move to Brighton from Newcastle subsequently followed for Minteh – who the injury notwithstanding looks set for a move to the next level.

Fabrizio Romano confirms deal reached with Minteh

Fabrizio Romano has now confirmed that Minteh has agreed terms on a “dream” move to Liverpool.

“Minteh already agreed personal terms with Liverpool, he wants the move, he dreams of joining Liverpool after some African players did great there – from Mo Salah to his idol Sadio Mane,” the Italian transfer supremo tells Caught Offside.

Romano maintains that club-to-club discussions must still be brought to fruition.

With a declared asking price however we can safely assume that a deal for Minteh to join Liverpool surely isn’t far away.

Other deals remain live for forward options – most significantly Bradley Barcola. The Paris Saint-Germain winger – out of contract in 2028 – isn’t currently part of the first-team picture in the French capital as clarity is sought over his future.

A deal was originally mooted at the £145m mark but an agreement for Barcola could be in sight for around £120m per the latest reports.
