Inter Milan Faces Challenges in Davide Frattesi Transfer Negotiations

Inter Milan has reportedly initiated discussions with Lazio regarding a loan for midfielder Davide Frattesi. Meanwhile, the club is still hopeful that Nottingham Forest will agree to purchase the player outright, which would allow them to reinvest in Liverpool’s Curtis Jones.

The Nerazzurri find themselves in a difficult position this summer as they risk missing out on numerous transfer opportunities, hampered by the need to sell players before acquiring new talent.

    Inter Need Buyer for Frattesi

Frattesi’s exit appears increasingly likely, primarily due to his limited playing time under both Simone Inzaghi and Cristian Chivu. However, potential buyers are hesitant to meet Inter’s €30 million asking price for the Italy international.

Juventus, alongside Nottingham Forest, had previously expressed interest in Frattesi. Now, Lazio is also making an approach, as noted by various sources including Sport Mediaset and Fabrizio Romano. The complication arises from Lazio’s financial limitations, as they can only extend a loan offer with a potential obligation to buy based on certain conditions.

Frattesi, who will turn 27 next month, began his footballing journey at Lazio’s youth academy before moving to Roma. However, his past as a Roma supporter might create challenges if he joins Lazio, since he had previously signaled interest in returning to the Giallorossi.

For Inter, the successful sale of Frattesi would enable them to channel funds towards the acquisition of Curtis Jones from Liverpool, valued at €40 million.

Lazio have reportedly asked for Davide Frattesi on loan, but Inter still hope Nottingham Forest will buy the midfielder outright, so they can reinvest in Liverpool’s Curtis Jones.

The Nerazzurri risk losing out on so many transfer targets this summer because they must sell before they can bring in any new players, and that is proving to be extremely difficult.

Frattesi was the most likely to take the exit after struggling for regular playing time under both Simone Inzaghi and then Cristian Chivu.

However, nobody seems prepared to pay the €30m asking price for the Italy international.

Juventus had shown interest, so have Nottingham Forest, but now Lazio are seemingly making an approach too, with Sport Mediaset, Fabrizio Romano and others noting the contact.

The problem here is that Lazio can only afford a loan with an option to buy at the end of the season, which could turn into an obligation if certain conditions are met.

Frattesi turns 27 next month and does have a past at Lazio, starting in their youth academy before crossing over to Roma.

He might run into difficulty if he comes to the Aquile, because a couple of years ago he made it clear that he is a Roma supporter and was pushing to return to that side of the Stadio Olimpico.

As for Inter, if they do manage to sell Frattesi, then that money can be reinvested in Liverpool’s €40m rated midfielder Jones.
