Hansi Flick has indicated that FC Barcelona may still pursue additional signings before the transfer window concludes, following a successful pre-season match against FC Basel. The Barcelona manager expressed satisfaction with the team’s display, particularly in light of their less impressive performance at a tournament in Udine.

As the La Liga opener against Elche approaches, Flick emphasized that the current squad remains a work in progress. He acknowledged the need for further enhancements, stating, “I think we need a few more players.”

Flick addressed the media after the Basel game, suggesting that Barcelona’s transfer activities may not be over yet.

He shared insights on the upcoming days, stating that upcoming matches and training sessions will help shape the club’s strategy. “We’ll analyse this match and also the training sessions. And we’ve got a match this week, so we’ll see,” Flick noted.

While pleased with the overall showings in training, the coach reiterated that improving the team’s performance remains a priority as the new season nears, stressing that “the most important thing is how we train – the quality and the intensity – and that’s very good. I can see the standard of the team and that’s what matters most.”

Evaluating the friendly, he remarked, “It was a good test for us; Basel played well. It wasn’t easy playing against them. Perhaps in the first half we didn’t play as quickly as we’d have liked, either in terms of positioning or off the ball. That’s what we need to improve on. We’ve got potential, and I’m pleased with the test,” he concluded.
