Hincapie Takes Aim at Van Dijk and Liverpool

Piero Hincapie Responds to Virgil van Dijk’s Social Media Post After Arsenal’s Victory

Piero Hincapie has taken a stand against Virgil van Dijk, the Liverpool defender, following a social media post that the latter made after Liverpool’s goalless draw against Arsenal in January. Van Dijk shared various photos on his Instagram account, including a black and white image from the match and a colorful photo showing off his golden Premier League patch.

The tone of Van Dijk’s message aimed at Arsenal and its supporters was unmistakable, serving as a reminder of Liverpool’s status as the reigning champions. However, Hincapie perceived this post as a challenge.

After claiming the Premier League title themselves, Arsenal secured a 1-0 victory over Liverpool on Sunday. In a show of defiance, Hincapie later shared his own selection of images on Instagram, including a black and white picture from the match and a color image mirroring Van Dijk’s original post.

Hincapie’s message was clear, as he captioned one of his uploads: “I don’t forget…”

The Arsenal players have not held back in celebrating their success, with Bukayo Saka previously reveling in victory after scoring the decisive goal against Aston Villa, exclaiming, “This is our club, we’re champions!” while gesturing to the golden badge on his kit.

Arsenal, often ridiculed by rivals for their previous near-misses in the league, currently stands tall as the reigning champions and holds a three-point lead at the top of the Premier League. The team is seizing the moment to assert their prowess amidst the competitive landscape of football.
