Headline: Inter Milan and AC Milan Secure €354 Million Financing for Joint Stadium Project

Inter Milan and AC Milan have secured €354 million in financing for their joint stadium project, with construction on the new San Siro now expected to begin in October 2027.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport via L’Interista, the funds were provided by a group of leading international banks through San Siro Spa, the entity created to manage the financial side of the operation. The financing follows the official purchase of the San Siro site earlier this month.

Inter and Milan are expected to present the final implementation plan in February, outlining detailed construction phases and design specifications.

When Will The New Stadium Be Ready

Work is expected to begin in October 2027 and last around 36 months, according to Gazzetta dello Sport. That timeline would see the new San Siro completed by October 2030, with inauguration falling between December 2030 and January 2031.

Both ownership groups, Oaktree at Inter and RedBird at Milan, are said to be heavily involved in overseeing the project, alongside architectural firms Foster + Partners and Manica.

The long-term financing reflects the two clubs’ shared commitment to building a modern, multi-purpose venue capable of matching Europe’s elite, even as they continue to share the current Meazza as fierce Milan derby rivals in the meantime.

With the financing now in place and the site purchase completed, the February implementation plan looms as the next real test of whether the 2027 start date holds.
