Chelsea achieved a resounding win in their pre-season campaign, defeating AC Milan 3-0 in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The team dominated the match but only broke the deadlock in stoppage time of the first half when Joao Pedro found the net.

The Brazilian forward had earlier squandered two clear chances but capitalized on a corner kick, heading the ball home from close range.

Just minutes into the second half, Pedro secured his second goal for Chelsea by converting a cross from Pedro Neto at the far post.

Moises Caicedo added a third for Chelsea four minutes later with a well-placed volley from the edge of the penalty area, connecting smoothly with a corner delivered by Romeo Lavia.

After facing defeats against Tottenham and Juventus, there were questions surrounding this Chelsea squad under new manager Xabi Alonso.

However, they displayed a much-improved performance against a lackluster Milan team led by former Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim.

Chelsea could have increased their lead further, with Geovany Quenda and Nicolas Jackson both striking the woodwork during the match.

The Blues conclude their pre-season tour on Sunday against Malaysian champions Johor Darul Ta’zim (13:00 BST) before returning to London to face Real Sociedad at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea will kick off their 2026-27 Premier League season against Fulham on 24 August.

Chelsea picked up a confidence-boosting pre-season win as they comfortably beat AC Milan in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The Blues were on top throughout the game, but did not take the lead until first-half stoppage time through Joao Pedro.

The Brazil forward had missed two clear-cut chances earlier in the half, but made no mistake when he headed home an in-swinging corner from six yards.

The attacker then doubled his and Chelsea’s tally just seconds after the break.

From their first attack of the second half, Pedro Neto curled a cross to the far post which Joao Pedro forced past Milan keeper Lorenzo Torriani.

Chelsea added a third goal four minutes later through Moises Caicedo’s fine finish.

Romeo Lavia’s corner looped to the Blues captain on the edge of the D, and he struck a volley into the far corner with the outside of his right boot.

After successive friendly defeats by Tottenham and Juventus, there may have been some concerns about this Chelsea side under new manager Xabi Alonso.

However they produced a much-improved performance to defeat a lacklustre Milan side, coached by ex-Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim.

Chelsea could have extended their winning margin too, with Geovany Quenda and Nicolas Jackson both hitting the woodwork.

The Blues conclude their pre-season tour on Sunday against Malaysian champions Johor Darul Ta’zim (13:00 BST), before returning to London for a match against Real Sociedad at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea begin their 2026-27 Premier League campaign against Fulham on 24 August.
