Curtis Jones Joins Inter After Transfer from Liverpool
Inter Milan has officially welcomed Curtis Jones from Liverpool, completing the transfer for €30 million, along with an additional €5 million in potential add-ons and a sell-on clause. The 25-year-old midfielder reunites with England teammates Djed Spence and John Stones at the Italian club.
Jones becomes the third England international from the 2026 World Cup squad to join Inter this summer, following the arrivals of free agent Stones and Tottenham’s Spence.
Months of Negotiations Yield Transfer
After several months of negotiations, Liverpool consented to let Jones leave for the proposed amount, despite initially holding out for a €40 million fee even as his contract neared expiration at the end of the season. The club eventually agreed to the €30 million transfer, accompanied by the add-on arrangement and a share of any future sale proceeds.
Jones arrived in Milan last night, completing his medical tests today before signing a contract that extends until June 2031. Prior interest from Inter dated back to last season, but earlier attempts to secure him in January were unsuccessful.
A product of Liverpool’s youth academy, Jones has spent his entire professional career with the Reds and is one of the last remaining ‘Scousers’ in the squad. He boasts six caps for the England national team, contributing one goal.
