Headline: Jeff Ekhator Injured Again in Juventus Training Session

In a setback for Juventus, summer acquisition Jeff Ekhator appears poised for another stint on the sidelines after suffering an injury during training in Turin on Sunday morning.

Ekhator, who joined Juventus from Genoa in a deal worth €16m plus bonuses earlier this summer, has already faced disruptions during his pre-season with a hamstring strain sustained during a friendly against Basel in July.

The young talent had just resumed full first team training earlier this week and was listed among the substitutes for Juventus’s 2-0 win over Parma in Serie A on Saturday. He did not see any playing time as Randal Kolo Muani completed the match at the Allianz Stadium.

However, reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport has confirmed that Ekhator encountered a new injury during the training session on Sunday morning.

Reports indicate that Ekhator felt discomfort in his leg, fell to the ground, and required assistance from club doctors to leave the field. He is expected to visit JMedical shortly for further evaluation.

Juventus continues to seek another striker ahead of the summer transfer window deadline on September 1. Currently, Kolo Muani remains the sole dependable option for coach Luciano Spalletti, especially with Ekhator’s injury and the uncertainty surrounding Arkadiusz Milik and Jonathan David as long-term solutions in the attacking lineup.

Among the potential targets linked to a move to Turin are Atletico Madrid’s Alexander Sorloth, Manchester United’s Joshua Zirkzee, and Newcastle’s Nick Woltemade.

In an unfortunate blow for Juventus, summer signing Jeff Ekhator looks set for another spell on the sidelines after hobbling out of training in Turin on Sunday morning.

Ekhator suffers another injury in Juventus training

Ekhator joined Juventus from Genoa in a deal worth €16m plus bonuses earlier this summer, but his pre-season preparations have already been hampered by a hamstring strain that the 19-year-old picked up in a friendly against Basel in July.

The teenager had only returned to full first team training earlier this week and was named amongst the substitutes for Juventus’s 2-0 win over Parma in Serie A on Saturday evening. He remained an unused sub as Randal Kolo Muani played the full 90 minutes at the Allianz Stadium.

Now, according to reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport, Ekhator has already suffered a new injury issue in training with Juve on Sunday morning.

He reportedly felt discomfort in his leg during an open session at Continassa on Sunday morning, hit the ground and was then helped off the pitch by club doctors. He is expected to report to JMedical in the next few hours for further assessment.

Juventus are still in the market for another centre-forward before the close of the summer transfer window on September 1. As things stand, Kolo Muani is the only reliable option that Luciano Spalletti has available at no.9 given the injury to Ekhator and the fact that neither Arkadiusz Milik or Jonathan David are considered long-term options in the Juventus attack.

Atletico Madrid’s Alexander Sorloth, Manchester United’s Joshua Zirkzee and Newcastle’s Nick Woltemade are among the names to have been linked with a move to Turin over the last few days.
