On Friday morning, Jürgen Klopp was officially unveiled as the new head coach of the German national team.
A huge rebuilding job awaits the former Liverpool manager, who is determined to restore the four-time world champions to their former glory.

Appoint a clear successor to Manuel Neuer
This time, Germany will no longer be able to call on him. At 36, the Bayern Munich goalkeeper had come out of international retirement to help the Mannschaft at the 2026 World Cup, but it is now time to turn the page.
Marc-André ter Stegen never managed to truly succeed the German icon, so it is up to Jürgen Klopp to establish a new undisputed first-choice goalkeeper.
Between Noah Atubolu, Jonas Urbig and Mio Backhaus, Germany has a promising pool of goalkeepers.

Find the Mannschaft’s main goalscorer
Up until 2014, Germany was always associated with a prolific striker. But who is now ready to take on that role? Denis Undav had an interesting World Cup and could lay claim to that responsibility.

Jürgen Klopp can take comfort in the fact that, in the 21st century, the Mannschaft has never needed a superstar to score goals. A legend of international football, Miroslav Klose did not have a club career on the same level, and the same goes for Mario Gomez and Lucas Podolski.
Revive key players who are struggling
On paper, when you have Joshua Kimmich, Jonathan Tah, Florian Wirtz, Jamal Musiala and even Kai Havertz, there is enough quality to aim higher than a World Cup round-of-16 exit.
But this German generation has seen its self-confidence, historically one of its trademarks, shattered by the successive fiascos of the last three World Cups.

As it happens, when Jürgen Klopp arrived at Liverpool, he took over a team in a fairly similar mental state and immediately led it to a Europa League final in his first season.
