Headline: Liverpool Pursues Bradley Barcola Amid Transfer Activity

Liverpool continues to focus on enhancing its attacking options in this transfer window, emphasizing the need for one-on-one quality in wide positions. The departure of Mohamed Salah on a free transfer has left a significant gap in the squad, making additional wingers a priority even before that move.

Sporting director Richard Hughes successfully secured the signing of Victor Munoz from Osasuna for £34 million, marking a key addition for the team. However, Liverpool has set its sights on other targets, including Endrick, Ibrahim Mbaye, and Yankuba Minteh.

Bradley Barcola emerges as Liverpool’s top winger target

Following the unsuccessful attempt to recruit Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig, the spotlight has turned to Bradley Barcola. Paris Saint-Germain appears prepared to let the France international leave during this transfer period, as his contract is set to expire in 2028. With no chance of a renewal, the two-time European champions recognize the need to cash in on their player, despite having previously set a high asking price.

Reports suggest PSG initially sought £145 million for Barcola, having heavily invested in new players such as Mika Godts, Maghnes Akliouche, and Ferran Torres.

PSG reduces asking price for Barcola

There may soon be a shift in PSG’s position, as noted by reliable French reporter Fabrice Hawkins, who indicated that Liverpool might soon have an opportunity to acquire Barcola at a reduced price. Instead of the initial £145 million, Liverpool could secure the winger for around €120 million, just over £100 million. All indications suggest Barcola is moving closer to joining Liverpool, with the transfer deadline set for September 1.

Barcola may join Liverpool for just over £100m

“Bradley Barcola wants to join Liverpool,” Hawkins stated during the After Foot podcast. “PSG were informed of his desire to leave, and they have accepted that position. There’s no intention to retain Bradley Barcola.”

The key issue has been the transfer valuation, which started at €170 million. Liverpool has made several verbal offers and is expected to present a written offer soon, which may finally facilitate the deal. The anticipated range for an agreement falls between €130 million and €150 million, with Barcola not going below €120 million. All parties involved believe a deal will be reached.

Should Barcola move to Anfield, he would still leave space for another right-wing option, as Barcola typically plays from the left side, similar to recent signings like Victor Munoz and Cody Gakpo.

Liverpool‘s long-standing transfer priority for this window has been adding one-v-one quality out wide in attack.

Mohamed Salah leaving the club on a free transfer has blown a hole in the attack – and even so – extra wingers were required before that.

Sporting director Richard Hughes managed to get a deal for Victor Munoz over the line – paying £34m to Osasuna for the Spain FIFA World Cup winner. But other targets are being chased – including Endrick, Ibrahim Mbaye and Yankuba Minteh.

Bradley Barcola is Liverpool’s No1 winger target

The one who loomed into focus following the failure to land Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig however is Bradley Barcola.

It would appear Paris Saint-Germain are resigned to losing the France international during the current transfer period – with the 23-year-old’s contract expiring in 2028.

With no chance of a new deal the two-time European champions have to cash in – although their valuation of Barcola up to now has been a sticking point.

PSG were believed to be holding out for £145m before letting Barcola go – having spent heavily on Mika Godts, Maghnes Akliouche and Ferran Torres.

PSG have slashed Barcola asking price

There may now be a thaw in that stance however with trusted French reporter Fabrice Hawkins spelling out how Liverpool may now get a discount on Barcola.

Instead of paying £145m for their No1 winger target they could get him for as little as €120m – which is a touch over £100m. All signs are now pointing towards Barcola joining Liverpool – with the transfer deadline coming on September 1.

Barcola will come for just over £100m

“Bradley Barcola wants to join Liverpool,” Hawkins told the After Foot podcast.

“PSG were informed earlier of his desire, and it was accepted. There’s no intention to keep Bradley Barcola.

“The sticking point has been the valuation, where they started at €170m.

“Liverpool have made different verbal offers. They’ve made offers since the verbal one, but there hasn’t been a written offer yet because, at this level, I think the next written offer will be the one that gets it done.

“We’ve understood that it would be somewhere between €130m and €150m, but in any case, it won’t be below €120m for Bradley Barcola. Everyone involved in this deal thinks there will be an agreement.”

Barcola coming to Anfield would still leave space in the attack for a first-choice right-wing option. He prefers to play from the left – just like Victor Munoz, Rio Ngumoha and Cody Gakpo.
