Liverpool Deems PSG’s Ibrahim Mbaye Transfer Too Costly

Liverpool views a potential deal for Paris Saint-Germain forward Ibrahim Mbaye as overly expensive, according to transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano. The club aims to secure a natural right winger to fill the gap left by Mohamed Salah.

Discussions have already taken place between Liverpool and Mbaye’s representatives regarding the transfer, yet the Senegal international’s price tag may prove to be a significant barrier. PSG reportedly seeks nearly €200 million for both Mbaye and teammate Bradley Barcola, a sum that Liverpool finds excessive.

At just 18 years old, Mbaye is the youngest debutant for the UEFA Champions League holders but has struggled to earn a regular starting spot. He is anticipated to explore a transfer this summer to secure more playing time.

Bayer Leverkusen, FC Porto, and RB Leipzig have expressed interest in Mbaye, although the young player appears to favor a move to Liverpool. The situation remains uncertain as it is unclear whether PSG will consider lowering their asking price to facilitate Mbaye’s transfer to the Premier League club.

Additionally, Liverpool’s focus seems to be shifting towards Barcola, which may complicate Mbaye’s chances of joining the team. The Reds intend to position Barcola as a left winger, with Rio Ngumoha shifting to the right flank.

If Liverpool cannot secure a natural right winger, they may face difficulties in the upcoming season. Currently, Federico Chiesa is their sole senior option in that position, but he has experienced ongoing injury issues since his arrival at the club.

To strengthen their squad, Liverpool needs to find a solution with PSG for Mbaye or consider alternative right-wing options.

Liverpool consider a deal for Paris Saint-Germain forward Ibrahim Mbaye to be ‘too expensive’, according to transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano.

Liverpool are pushing to sign Mbaye, with the club looking to sign a natural right winger to replace Mohamed Salah.

The Reds have already held talks with his representatives over a potential move, but could be priced out of a move for the Senegal international.

PSG reportedly want close to €200 million for Mbaye and Bradley Barcola combined, an amount the Reds consider too steep.

The 18-year-old is the UEFA Champions League holders’ youngest debutant, but has found it difficult to nail a starting berth. He is expected to leave this summer to get more playing time.

Bayer Leverkusen, FC Porto and RB Leipzig have also been linked with Mbaye, but the youngster prefers to join Liverpool.

It remains to be seen whether PSG would reduce their valuation to allow the right-winger to join the Reds.

Liverpool appear to be prioritising a move for Barcola, which could hinder Mbaye’s move to the Merseyside giants.

Liverpool plan to use the France international as their left winger, with Rio Ngumoha moving to the right flank.

Liverpool could struggle next season if they fail to sign a natural right winger. Federico Chiesa is their only senior option in the position, but the Italian has struggled with injuries since joining the club.

The Reds should try to reach a compromise with PSG for Mbaye or look elsewhere for a right-wing specialist.
