Inter Milan Targets Liverpool Midfielder Curtis Jones for Third Bid
In a recent report, journalist Graeme Bailey claims that Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones remains a target for Inter Milan. The Italian club reportedly plans to launch a third offer to sign the English midfield talent from the Reds this summer.
Jones’ Decent Season In English Football
Jones enjoyed a strong run of form for the Merseyside club last season, delivering a string of impressive displays in the center of the park. The 25-year-old scored three goals and provided three assists across 49 matches for Liverpool in all competitions.
As one of the most talented central midfielders currently playing in the Premier League, many believe Liverpool should aim to keep him beyond this summer.
However, his current contract at Anfield expires at the end of next season. Consequently, the Reds face a difficult decision: sell him for a reduced fee during this off-season or risk losing him on a free transfer next summer.
Should Liverpool Boss Andoni Iraola Cut Jones Loose?
Jones works hard defensively and demonstrates strong dribbling skills. He strikes the ball with power from long range and possesses the vision to create scoring opportunities for his teammates in the final third.
The English talent contributes by scoring and creating goals while moving forward. Although primarily a box-to-box midfielder, Jones can also operate as an attacking midfielder or a defensive midfielder when required by his manager. He remains a key member of Liverpool’s match-day squad and could play a vital role in the upcoming Premier League campaign.
Nevertheless, given his expiring contract, Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola may have little choice but to move him on this off-season.
At 25, Jones has his best years ahead of him. Despite his talent, the Reds might consider cashing in on him to generate funds for a suitable replacement during this summer transfer window.
