Juventus and Bologna Continue Negotiations for Defender Jhon Lucumi

Juventus and Bologna resumed discussions today regarding the transfer of Jhon Lucumi, yet they have not finalized an agreement on the €20 million offer that includes bonuses. As he approaches the end of his contract at Stadio Dall’Ara, Lucumi has expressed a strong preference for his next move to be to Turin.

This situation has prompted Bologna to lower their initial asking price from €25 million, which was already a reduction from the €28 million release clause that lapsed last month.

Despite the ongoing negotiations, reports from Sky Sport Italia indicate that a deal is unlikely to be completed today. Juventus remains optimistic about securing the player, but differences persist in the discussions over the proposed €20 million package with add-ons.

Lucumi has already reached a personal agreement with Juventus, positioning himself to sign a four-year deal that offers an option for a fifth year. The Colombian international was on the verge of a transfer to Sunderland last summer, but after that deal fell through, he received assurances from Bologna that he would be permitted to leave for an appropriate offer this time.

Juventus and Bologna met again today to discuss Jhon Lucumi, but have not yet been able to reach an agreement on the €20m including bonus offer.

The defender is down to the final months of his contract at the Stadio Dall’Ara, and has made it very clear he only wants his next club to be in Turin.

This has meant Bologna lowering the initial €25m asking price, which in turn was a drop from the €28m release clause that expired last month.

    Lucumi deal still not ready

Sky Sport Italia confirm another encounter today between the two clubs, and while Juve remain confident they will get a deal, it probably won’t be today.

The proposal on the table remains €20m including add-ons, so the negotiations are trying to whittle down the differences.

Lucumi has already agreed personal terms with Juventus, ready to sign a four-year contract with option to extend for a fifth.

The Colombia international had been practically sold to Sunderland last summer, so when that move was abandoned, he got a promise that Bologna would let him leave for a suitable offer this time around.
