Mauricio Pochettino indicated during an interview with a Spanish radio station that he will reveal his decision regarding his future with the United States men’s national team next week.
The Argentinian manager is currently in discussions with U.S. Soccer concerning a contract extension through the 2030 World Cup. Reports suggest that an offer for a new deal was made to the 54-year-old Pochettino prior to the commencement of the 2026 World Cup, where the USMNT successfully advanced from its group and reached the Round of 16 before being eliminated by Belgium.

“We are evaluating it, looking at it,” Pochettino told Cadena Cope on Thursday. “They [U.S. Soccer] have made me an offer to continue, and we will see. Next week we will [make] a decision.”
Pochettino, who has previously managed Southampton, Tottenham, Paris Saint-Germain, and Chelsea, was appointed by U.S. Soccer in September 2024 to succeed Gregg Berhalter. In his first international coaching role, he has guided the USMNT to a record of 17 wins, 12 losses, and 2 draws over 31 matches.
U.S. Soccer invested a record $6 million to hire Pochettino nearly two years ago. Both parties have enjoyed a productive relationship and expressed interest in continuing to collaborate beyond the 2026 World Cup.

“It’s difficult to describe or know your future,” Pochettino said last month. “But when you are here, I think it’s difficult now to see yourself living in another place, because for sure, we will miss it if one day we don’t stay here in this country.”
