Former Hibernian striker Kathleen McGovern has joined English WSL2 side Newcastle United following her departure from the Edinburgh club.

The 24-year-old signed with Hibs in the summer of 2024 after leaving fellow capital club Hearts. During her time at the club, she scored 51 goals in 65 appearances.

She also played a key role in helping Hibs secure their first top-flight title in 18 years during the 2024/25 season.

While based in Edinburgh, the striker earned her first call-up to the Scotland national team and made her debut in 2024. She has since made 14 appearances for her country, scoring 10 goals in those matches.
