Two more stars have been confirmed for Carlos Tévez’s farewell match at La Bombonera, and they are none other than Lionel Messi and Juan Román Riquelme. The match is scheduled for December 20.

In a recent interview with Rio Ferdinand, Carlos Tévez shared that “Riquelme and Messi will be there.” Ferdinand also confirmed his participation in the farewell match, stating, “I’m going, I’m training.”

The farewell match will feature ‘Boca’ against ‘Tévez’s Friends’, with players who have played alongside El Apache throughout his career and during his time at Boca Juniors forming the teams.

During the conversation with Ferdinand, they reminisced about their time in England, their relationship with Alex Ferguson, and the reasons behind El Apache’s move to Manchester City. Ferdinand and Tévez were teammates at United between 2007 and 2009, alongside Cristiano Ronaldo. However, the Portuguese star’s attendance remains uncertain; while Tévez hopes for his presence, confirmation is still pending.

In addition to Riquelme and Messi, several other players have already confirmed their participation in Tévez’s farewell match: Gabriel Batistuta, Martín Palermo, Gianluigi Buffon, Sergio Agüero, Arturo Vidal, Edwin van der Sar, Patrice Evra, Esteban Cambiasso, Roberto Mancini, Sebastián Battaglia, Diego Cagna, Pablo Zabaleta, and Nicolás Burdisso.
