Napoli Provides Update on Lobotka’s Injury Severity

Headline: Napoli’s Stanislav Lobotka Out for Four to Eight Weeks Due to Ankle Injury

Napoli has confirmed that midfielder Stanislav Lobotka has sustained a low-grade ankle injury, which will keep him sidelined for a duration of four to eight weeks. The 31-year-old Slovakia international suffered the injury during Napoli’s Serie A away match against Monza on Wednesday, with the club announcing further details about the condition.

In an official statement released on Thursday, Napoli reported that Lobotka’s medical examinations indicated an “injury to the distal tibiofibular syndesmosis without instability, associated with a low-grade injury to the anterior talofibular ligament (ATFL) in his left ankle.”

Recovery timelines for Lobotka vary, with Corriere dello Sport suggesting at least a month before he can return, while TMW reports he may require as long as two months to achieve full fitness.

Lobotka was visibly emotional as he left the field on a stretcher during the match and his absence will be a blow for Napoli, despite their 4-1 victory against Monza. This season, Lobotka has contributed one goal in 12 matches across all competitions. Currently, his contract with Napoli is set to expire in June, although the club has the option to extend it for another season.
