Lionel Messi Shines in First Start for Inter Miami, Scores Twice and Provides Assist

Lionel Messi made his first start for Inter Miami since the World Cup this Wednesday (5).

And the Argentine did not disappoint, scoring two goals and providing an assist in his team’s win over Atlético San Luís of Mexico.

Casemiro also started and stayed on the field for the full 90 minutes of the Leagues Cup match, a competition involving Mexican and MLS teams.

Messi’s assist came from a corner kick that found the head of Brazilian center back Micael, formerly of Palmeiras.

With this Wednesday’s performance, the Argentine reached 921 career goals.
