Diego Moreira has completed his medical with Milan, though the winger’s move from Strasbourg won’t be signed until Wednesday morning.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, the Belgian international passed his medical examination on Monday afternoon before returning to his Milan hotel. The contract signing has been postponed to the following morning instead of being completed the same day as initially planned.

Moreira to Milan deal could rise to €65m with add-ons

Milan outbid RB Leipzig to secure Moreira, agreeing to a fee close to Strasbourg’s valuation but falling short of their initial €70m asking price.

The Rossoneri will pay a base amount of €50m, with various bonus structures included. Some of these bonuses are easy to trigger, while others are more challenging, potentially inflating the total deal to €65m. This would position Moreira as one of Milan’s most significant acquisitions of the summer, alongside Gonçalo Ramos.

Roma had also shown strong interest earlier in the window, with Strasbourg initially expecting a higher fee before Milan accelerated their move.

The 22-year-old winger can play across the left side, including as a wing-back, traditional winger, or attacking midfielder. He graduated from Benfica’s academy and has had stints at Chelsea, Lyon, and two seasons establishing himself in Ligue 1 with Strasbourg. Moreira also represented Belgium in this summer’s World Cup.

The Rossoneri will pay a fixed €50m, with various bonuses, some straightforward to trigger, others more demanding, capable of pushing the total package up to €65m, which would make him one of the club’s most expensive signings of the summer alongside Gonçalo Ramos.
